Posted on Tripadvisor Journey6153067151830. September, 2024.Verified Fantastic shepherd hut Excellent shepherd’s hut set in beautiful Weardale with dark skies above the hot tub. Extremely comfortable and the little dogs enjoyed their stay tooPosted on Tripadvisor Lynsey E14. September, 2024.Verified Fantastic hidden gem Just came back from Weardale retreat, lovely picturesque and peaceful. Had everything we needed. Wonderful welcome basket on arrival. Garden was a good size with a hot tub and bbq and a fire pit which we enjoyed looking over the hills. We did have to block the gates as we have small dogs so that they couldn’t squeeze under the fence. Overall, I would definitely recommend it so much that we stayed an extra night. We would definitely book againPosted on Tripadvisor antony s8. August, 2024.Verified What a gem An absolute gem, beautiful location and views. A gorgeous hut, very well stocked with all the essentials. Hot tub is amazing, the perfect spot to relax with a drink and stargaze, keep your eye's peeled for the owl. Highly recomend the afternoon tea and breakfast, beautifully presented and tastyPosted on Tripadvisor Scenic1123717997831. March, 2024.Verified Enjoyable nights dinner and sleep at the end of an evening by the log burner with gorgeous countryside views. Beautiful tiny home, in a stunning countryside. Gorgeous nights sleep. Beautiful views out from a peaceful breakfast table (stocked with produce by the owners; honey, milk, eggs, cheese) thanks to welcoming and helpful hosts. Stay here! 10/10Posted on Tripadvisor Ruth S11. September, 2023.Verified 3 day break The retreat is very well laid out with everything you need including a starter pack. The views are wonderful and it's very quiet, only the sheep in the adjoining field. Close to the farm but a short walk across the hay field to get to the accommodation. We ordered the afternoon tea for the first day and it was wonderful, all home made. Carol was very friendly and helpful. Short journey to Beamish and around 30 minutes to Hadrian's Wall.Posted on Tripadvisor Relax1453694242220. August, 2023.Verified Superb little shepherd's hut We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this little gem of a property. There was everything we needed and more. The views are stunning and it is so peaceful and relaxing. It was a shame that the weather was not kind to us and for us to be able to sit outside more to take in the views. The owners are always on hand should you need anything. I highly recommend this little piece of heaven.Posted on Tripadvisor Claire I2. January, 2023.Verified Fantastic New Year stay! Booked the hut for a new year getaway, and we were thrilled to be able to check in earlier than first advised. Carol welcomed us and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The hut?...... what can u say! It was perfect ????. The hot tub was warming ready for us,it was spacious and was clean with some fab touches. Hot chocolate, marshmallows, honey, and cheese were available along with robes and slippers, which were very handy indeed. 2 glasses and a bottle of prosecco were also waiting for us, which we were delighted with. The log burner kept us cosy, and the fridge freezer kept our drinks chilled ???? Would thoroughly recommend this little charm of a hut. It was comfortable and provided us with a little extra luxury to see us into 2023. Thank you, and we hope you have a wonderful, successful New Year.Posted on Tripadvisor Stacey13. June, 2021.Verified Amazing hidden gem We have just returned from a short stay here and all I can say is WOW! The views, the cabin and the local area are all beautiful! Carol was amazingly helpful from the initial booking onwards. We loved relaxing in the hottub with picturesque views and exploring the local area. Would highly recommend to anyone to visit, you won't be disappointed.Posted on Tripadvisor Sarah C4. May, 2021.Verified AMAZING We had the most loveliest time here, there is everything you need - BBQ, fire pit, hot tub, small kitchen & bathroom. On arrival we were greeted by Carol who was on hand if you needed anything, a lovely basket of local produce and marshmallows for the fire pit too!! The Shepherd hut is in the most beautiful remote location but there is a shop just in the village less than 5 minutes away. There was so much space in the hut & it was really well thought out including a TV. We wished we had stayed for longer but will be returning!Posted on Tripadvisor Jenny shell23. October, 2020.Verified Fantastic stay Would highly recommend Weardale Retreat. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing few nights is there, including a wood fired hot tub with spectacular views. We stayed with our dog, there is an enclosed area for him to wander about in, and there was even food and water bowls and treats provided for him. The hosts were incredibly welcoming with prosecco on arrival and breakfast delivered each morning. The hut itself was very comfortable and clean and even a lovely warm shower. The location was fantastic, not too far out of the way, but far enough to get away. We will definitely be back for another visit.Load moreTripadvisor rating score: 4.5 of 5, based on 17 reviews
